Samaná is a cool spot in the Dominican Republic where the locals, called “Samanenses,” are super friendly. You’ll hear a lot of “Hola” and “¿Cómo estás?” when you greet people.

Spanish is the main language, though you might catch some English in tourist areas. People usually have lunch around 1-3 PM and dinner from 8-10 PM. Most businesses run from 9 AM to 6 PM, Monday to Friday, and some are open on Saturdays.
