Tips to visit Tijuana
Tijuana is a lively city just south of the U.S. border, and its locals are known as “Tijuanenses.” When you meet someone, a casual “Hola” or “¿Qué onda?” is totally fine.

Spanish is the main language, but you’ll also hear a good amount of English, especially in tourist areas. People typically eat lunch around 1-3 PM and dinner from 8-10 PM. Business hours usually run from 9 AM to 6 PM, Monday to Friday, with some places open on Saturdays.

Tipping is customary, and around 10-15% is expected. The health system includes both public and private options, with private clinics often preferred for faster service. Dress code is generally casual; jeans and a nice top work for most places, but you might want to dress up a bit for nicer restaurants. Locals might say “¡Qué chido!” to express something they find cool or impressive.
