Tips to visit Ushuaia

Ushuaia, where people are known as “Ushuaiense,” is a unique city at the end of the world. When you meet locals, a simple “Hola” or “¿Cómo estás?” will work just fine.

Spanish is the main language spoken, but you’ll also hear some English, especially around tourist spots. People generally eat lunch around 1-2 PM and dinner from 8-9 PM. Most businesses run from 9 AM to 6 PM, Monday to Friday, with some open on weekends.

Tipping is common, around 10%, and it’s expected in restaurants and taxis. Ushuaia’s health system includes both public and private options, with private facilities often preferred for faster service.
