Tips to visit Vancouver
In Vancouver, locals, known as “Vancouverites,” are pretty friendly and usually greet with a casual “Hey” or “Hi.” English is the main language, though you’ll also hear a mix of other languages due to the city’s diverse population.

People in Vancouver typically eat lunch between 12 and 1 PM and dinner around 6 to 7 PM. Most businesses open around 9 AM and close by 5 or 6 PM. For tipping, 15-20% is standard in restaurants and cafes, and it’s always appreciated.

The local health system is quite good, with access to both public and private healthcare. As for dress code, Vancouverites are laid-back; casual and outdoor-friendly wear is common due to the city’s active lifestyle. Common expressions include “How’s it going?” and “Right on!”—very laid-back and relaxed!
